For those of us whose parents have health issues, it’s getting harder and harder to plan a vacation. Many airline tickets are non-refundable, and increasing numbers of hotels require payment in advance  and stick you with hefty penalties if you cancel.
Sure we can buy the tickets and hope for the best. But what if our parents get sick? How can we leave?
A friend told me she’s struggling with just that. She’s planning a big, expensive overseas vacation  but since her parents’ health has been up and down, she’s buying trip insurance just in case.
I’ve never gotten trip insurance, but in theory it sounds like a good idea.
If you’re thinking of getting it for your next trip, check out this “article that appeared in the AARP Bulletin”:http://www.aarp.org/bulletin/consumer/trip_interrupted.html.
What about you? Have you ever purchased trip insurance?

trip insurance sounds like a wonderful idea; that’s the hard part with sick, elderly parents, it can go on forever and there’s never a good time to do anything, so you just have to learn to live life while they’re dying, it’s not easy
here’s a good site too http://www.insuremytrip.com/faqs-1000-0-20070-632803.html – it compares policies and has more questions and answers
